'WITHDRAWN'
ROBERT PERRY
KETCH
Platinum is a well equiped, spacious, airy ketch cruiser that can be sailed easily by one person. Platinum has sailed extensively around Tasmania, the east coast of Australia, Coral sea and New Guinea, and in the Pacific to New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand. Platinum has Australian registration.
Platinum is a comfortable cruising boat, we have averaged 8 knots for 24 hours on several occasions. With a furling jib and main as well as the mizzen being operated from the cockpit it is very easy to sail.
With 500 litres of fuel, 800 litres of water and the facility to capture and filter rainwater we managed extended sailing periods in the pacific without minimal restocking required.
The cabin layout has a double and single bunk at the front and 2 doubles at the back. We use the front one at anchorage and the rear for passages. For a large family or extra crew, the front double bunk can easily be converted to a single and with a curtain it can be converted into 2 separate single berths each with separate access to the front toilet and main cabin.
