Calypso III is an original 30 foot classic gaff rigged double ender Tahiti Ketch true to the design of John Hanna a truly blue water historic vessel. Her Keel was laid in 1947 and she was launched in 1953. She has had only two owners. Selling by current owner of 25 years after purchase from the original owner builder.
Strongly constructed of copper roved 11/4 inch carvel planks of spotted gum below waterline and Queensland Pencil Cedar above. Spotted gum frames at 10 inch centres, grown knees and large double stringers. Large floors of spotted gum. Large keelson of spotted gum with large bronze bolts. Traditional maple and celery top floor Cabin and interior of Queensland Maple. Honduras mahogany tiller with Dougla Fir Main mast, mizzenmast and bowsprit.

Deck is laid white beech covered with plywood and Fibreglass,
Lead keel 1 1/2 ton external, internal 1 ton ingots ballast deadwood copper sheathed.
Full length aft rudder fully reconditioned.
Stainless steel rigging and stainless steel rod bobstay. White quality running rigging. Traditional wooden blocks.
Stainless steel pushpit bow pulpit and staunchons all round.
Simpson Lawrence Manual anchor winch CQR anchor and 40 metres of 3/8 chain.
Propulsion by 15HP Lister Twin Diesel SW2M recently fully reconditioned. Electric or hand start. Additional spares.
2 Depth sounders, VHF radio, 2 Burner metho stove. Stainless steel lined galley with sink and traditional bronze hand water pump and sea water foot pump

Vancouver, West and East Coast of USA, New York, Caribbean, Mexico, Galápagos Islands and Fiji. She is a true safe ocean cruiser. The current owner has cruised the Queensland coast.
Calypso is a registered historic vessel Hv000209 on the Australian National Maritime Museum register and is an Australian Registered Ship.
She has been regularly slipped and antifouled and the bright work maintained.
