Slice of Heaven is a 12.9m fast passage maker, designed by Jon Sayer and built to the highest standards in 1998. The hull is fully sheathed in fiberglass and epoxy. Beam 4.3m Draught 2.1m. She has cruised extensively and completed 3 Melbourne to Hobart races and 3 Melbourne -Stanley races. She is currently at Mooloolaba Qld. The rig has a large main and a self tacking jib. Performance is excellent and the self-tacking jib allows easy handling even with only 2 crew. Both the masthead and ¾ spinakers are in socks and are easily handled. Performance has been competitive in both AMS and IRC, even with all cruising gear on board. Internally there are double cabins forward and aft, a huge dinette, a "U" shaped galley, navstation, and separate head and basin with standing shower. A massive storage locker opens from the cockpit. The galley has a gas oven and 4 burner stove, double sink with draining board, fridge and freezer, coffee machine, powered by 3000W inverter from 5 x 120 Ah deep cycle batteries.
Recent maintenance and improvements include repainting topsides with 2 pack, replacement of running and standing rigging, new main and jib, Raymarine chartplotter, wind instruments, autopilot, AIS and Icom VHF radio. Also equipped with HF radio and Furuno radar and Muir anchor winch. Yanmar 48hp diesel with 3600hrs runs perfectly and sail-drive has been recently reconditioned. Fuel capacity in a keel and aft tank is 400 litres. 4 water tanks hold over 600 litres.
The huge dining table can be removed and replaced with a smaller drop-side table and the saloon seats convert to a double berth.
Other equipment includes 10 person liferaft, Achilles inflatable tender with 8hp Yamaha outboard, spare anchor, storm jib and trysail and other safety equipment for Cat 2 ocean racing. Ready to race or cruise.
